Life happens...

It's been a while. Back on Feb 29, a major incident occurred at work. I worked all weekend with very little sleep and most of the next week trying to remedy the problem. After that, we were in crisis mode for a while, I was still working more than usual. It took me longer to recover physically from that period (lack of sleep) than it did when I was a younger man. Meanwhile, at home, my wife was getting more pregnant... which means she does less around the house and I do more. The evenings during March were used to catch up on house work, run errands and rest. Suffice it to say the guitar was not too high on my priority list during all this, I haven't touched it since my last post in late February. Bill Cory of kitguitarbuilder.com once said while referring to his first guitar kit: Okay, so it took seven months. During that time ... well, life happens, doesn't it? That about sums it up. I started building it in late september 2007... you do the math, seven months is almost up and I'm only half done.
Fast forward to now: Jonathan David was born on 4/9/08 at 0410 in the morning, he weighed in at 8lb 6oz, and was 20" long. What a blessing.
I hope to get back to it sometime this spring, but I'm not in any big hurry now that the braces have been glued on to the top/back. Building a family is far more rewarding than building a guitar.

Wow! Congratulations on the new addition to the family! That is one good lookin' family, you must be very proud.

My blog and guitars haven't seen much of me lately either as like you said, "life happens" I do feel my shop calling me but I just haven't had the time to devote to building.

Again, congrat's on the new boy.
